UPDATE: Aston Martin CC100 Speedster Concept now Revealed
2013 is Aston Martin’s centenary, and as you’d expect there’s lots of ’100 Years of Aston Martin’ events going on, including the first hydrogen powered Rapide at this weekend’s Nurburgring 24hr. But that’s not all there will be at the Nurburgring tomorrow from AML. The Aston Martin CC100 centenary special edition – an open roadster recalling the legendary DBR1 – is due to be unveiled tomorrow (19th May 2013) and Aston Martin have revealed a tease buried in a new video – ‘Aston Martin Past, Present and Future’ (below).
Ferrari FF E85 conversion gets 875bhp
If the performance of the Ferrari FF with 650bhp isn’t enough for you, how about a bio-ethanol (E85) conversion with 875bhp? Despite Ferrari anoraks claiming the Ferrari FF isn’t a real Ferrari, we think it’s stunning. With a glorious V12 producing 650bhp, 0-60mph in 3.7 seconds, room for four – and their luggage – and a go-anywhere 4WD system, we think it’s a masterpiece.
On the weekend of October 11, the San Diego Automotive Museum celebrated its 20th Anniversary by hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a special exhibit, Ferrari: Cavallino Rampante - Italy's Prancing Horse. The Saturday evening event was the grand opening reception for 15 rare Ferraris on exhibit, joined by designs created by retired automobile designers and local high school students.
The extravagant evening celebration also served as a finale of two-day Ferrari Road Rally event, inviting owners of Ferraris from various eras to show their cars - which ranged from a 1967 275 GTB and 1968 Dino to a 360 Challenge Stradale. Over a dozen Ferraris parked in front of the museum served as a pleasant prelude to some of marque's memorable examples displayed inside: a collection of rare Ferraris that includes a 1952 212 Europa, 1955 250 Boano Prototipo, 1956 250 GT Zagato, 1957 250 Testarossa, 1959 410 Super America and 1965 275 GTB/Competizione.
